Why Your Focus Groups Don’t Work

Because your recruiters find people through spam…. the following email was sent to me at my PSFK address (I am a single male thirty something):

Re: $125.00/30-min Focus Group in Mid-town Manhattan

We are currently conducting focus groups with Women ages 45-79 that have experienced a heart attack in Mid-town Manhattan on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 during the day lasting 30-minutes.

If you would like to attend any of these groups, please read on for the requirements: you have had at least one heart attack, your spouse or child is involved in the health care, your spouse or child who is involved in your healthcare must be willing to attend this session with you. You must live within a 45-minute drive of Manhattan (with traffic). For both you and your spouse/child attending we are offering $125.00 per couple. You must also agree to (if selected) us coming to your home to film both you and your spouse/child for a market research in-home interview and if you are selected we are offering $250.00 per couple.
