Russell Davies’ Creative Spaces Lens
Over on Squidoo, Russell has developed a ‘lens’ site with a focus on creative spaces - how, why, where, when:
“I’m fascinated by which environments make for creativity and ideas, especially for ‘business creativity’. Everywhere I’ve worked has been in the business of having creative ideas, but the spaces have been very different.”
“This lens is intended to be a round-up of my explorations of this stuff.”

Inspiration: Else/Where Mapping
The University of Minnesota Design Institute’s new book ELSE/WHERE: MAPPING charts the ascendancy of mapping as a fundamental design process: “a powerful interdisciplinary strategy that links people and places, data and organizations, and physical and virtual environments.”
The book features 40 essays by writers from the U.S. and Europe, nearly 300 images, and several commissioned projects. The book’s four sections “juxtapose archival maps and experimental prototypes—opening up a new dialogue among disciplines.”
The U3 Drive
Scoble spots a device that surely one of you guys can use for your own campaign, trial or distribution. It’s a USB drive with a difference:
Turns out it fools my PC into thinking it’s a CD-ROM drive that auto starts.
This is a radical way to distribute test software. Why? Cause I unplug my key and any software I run disappears along with it (and any traces, including any temp files I’ve downloaded — I got the Maxthon browser on the key, for instance. As soon as I unplug it everything goes away, even registry entries).

Guardian: Interview With Richard Branson
There’s a very interesting interview with Dickie B over on the Guardian. Highlights include where the exploration of the creation and sales of the various units within the Virgin brand umbrella. And check this Q&A:
How do you organise your day?
A third of my time promoting, a third on new ventures and a third on fighting fires.
What would you like your legacy to be?
To have created one of the most respected companies in the world. Not necessarily the biggest.
Inspiration: Locker Art Show
Reg over at WMMNA spots this interesting art show in Tokyo by belgian artist Eric Van Hove:
The recently installed X-CUBE© locker system will be hijacked to allow multiple users to exchange packages by using a touch screen and their cell phone numbers as digital-keys. The project simply substitutes the package with an artwork or installation
