How WiFi Will Change Local Advertising

An article spotted by SmartMobs suggests that WiFi will allow brands to target users with ads relevant within 200 feet of their location. Small businesses such as cafes could try to tempt you to have your next coffee (and WiFi session) at their venue.

Google aims to be able to track its users to within 100-200 feet of their location through new wireless networks in order to serve them with relevant advertising from local businesses”.Further,”the company hopes to defray the costs of offering a free service through contextual advertising.
