Microsoft’s Anti-Piracy Campaign

by Guy Brighton

Microsoft AntipiracyMicrosoft is taking some drastic steps to get its message through about software piracy. It’s sending through anonymous packs with a blank CD with a post it attached. The post it reads “All The Software You Need Plus Codes” - much like the CD you probably have used once before to load that dodgy software onto your computer.

When someone installs the CD, the computer “Crashes” with a blue screen message saying that you’ve lost your files. Ten seconds later a screen comes up and lets you know that you’re lucky this time - it was just a piece of Direct Marketing.
