Phatgnat Youth Report Seminar

Last Monday we were fortunate enough to be at the launch of the 2006 Phatgnat Youth Report.

Every year DK, Phatgnat’s founder, produces a quantative report on what the youth of Britain think about certain issues and how they react to brands. To celebrate the release of the 2006 version DK invited people from the marketing, media and education world to a presentation of the report’s findings.

The presentation was held at the offices of Edcom in South London and the presentation kicked off with a word from them. Once these formalities were over the effervescent DK took the stage and took us through his most ambitious report to date.

Some of the things we took away were:
- Brands can appear to do good by actually being good
- Brands need to communicate as much as possible what they are doing
- Brands need to be transparent and honest
- Brands need to be specific about the tribes and demographics they are targeting
