2012 Olympic Logo

Yesterday saw the launch of the London 2012 Olympic logo. After £400,000 and Wolff Olins slaving away the end result was, well, pretty awful. Some people have felt so strongly about it that they’ve set up an online petition. Creativematch said:
“Working in the creative industry, I also recognised that this was a chance to reinforce Britain’s (and London’s) position at the top of the creative industry worldwide.
“Renowned for our cutting edge design, this was an opportunity to showcase our expertise to billions of people.
“I have to say I can’t help feeling let down.”
From the clean and relatively simple logo that London won the games with to this:

The general consensus in the blogosphere was that this is a pretty horrendous attempt:
- Scamp
- Beeker
- Dan Germain
