    This reminds me a lot of the user generated conference BarCamp logo that has been riffed on based on conference location and conference topic.
    The coolest thing about the iterations is that they are completely voluntary- there are NO rules of how the logo is manipulated, the community just maintains the original logo theme- most likely because the conferences have gained notoriety.
