RSPCA Free Range Chickens

Global Military Recruitment Ads
Ad Lab have compiled a YouTube playlist of military recruitment ads from around the world.
As you’d expect the majority are soaked in patriotism but overall they mostly feel like expensively shot corporate videos rather than finely tuned advertising. However, the Swedish work, illustrated above, really stands out.
Shit Disco - OK
We spotted this new video from Shit Disco on MTV and thought it was pretty cool. Expect to see a slew of ads ‘inspired’ by this very shortly.
New BBC Homepage

When people talk about good web design one of the most oft mentioned sites is the BBC’s. Because of the BBC’s remit its sites have to be fully accessible and easily navigable. This week they’ve launched a significantly refreshed homepage which looks set to compete with the likes of Google and Yahoo! as people’s homepage. It features customisable widgets, BBC search, web search and the latest on BBC iPlayer.

Movie Tails

The New York Times has published a fantastic interactive graph of the ebb and flow of movie box office sales.
“Summer blockbusters and holiday hits make up the bulk of box office revenue each year, while contenders for the top Oscar awards tend to attract smaller audiences that build over time.”
It’s interesting to see how the shape of the graph has changed in recent times. Gone are the smaller peaks and longer tails of the 80s. In come huge spikes and shorter tales in the 00s.
