Chris Anderson, the Editor in Chief of Wired Magazine, has been working on his latest book, a follow-up to the Long Tail. This time Anderson is looking at the new economy of free e.g. how Yahoo can give away unlimited space for email or how soon Ryan Air will be able to give away free flights. Today also saw the release of the latest Trendwatching.com newsletter, also about the free economy. They argue that the free economy is being fueled by advertising, tryvertising, consumer created content, the swap/freecycle economy, and donations.
